German Fans
Stephan emailed this to me and I thought it was actually pretty funny. Especially if you consider that during the World Cup, many people here in Germany don't schedule appointments during Germany games, take a day off of work to watch, or I've heard, they just watch at work.

Deutschland, Deutschland!!
Don't worry, I'm still rooting for the U.S and so far I've seen more of their games than those from Germany. But I am here in Germany and I much say, it is difficult not to get caught up in the excitement over the World Cup and Germany's performance. Literally every where you look there are signs of support for the World Cup teams, and not always Germany. Full sized flags wave from the cars and on game days large masses of people gather wearing the colors of their country and wave their flags. And the police are paroling the city like I've never seen before. So, as long as Germany and the U.S aren't playing against each other, I'm in full support of both!!
Here are a couple songs which are quite popular at the moment. If you care to listen. Maybe you wont really enjoy them but their kind of fun and at the moment you hear them every where. The first one is a remix of a song from a girl here in Germany who just won something like American Idol here in Europe. I think its pretty representative of the fun, and lets say party side of the World Cup here in Germany. Any excuse to party here! The second song is one that has been around for a while and keeps changing depending on the year of the World Cup. They sing "54 74 90 2010", the years in which Germany has won the World Cup and the one their cheering for.
ENJOY!!

TOR!!!

Last Friday I joined the football (soccer) crazed fans! Here in Germany you wouldn't know that the games are actually taking place thousands of miles away in the South of Africa. They watch the game dressed in all their colors with the flag proudly waving in support of their team. And once the game begins, they scream and cheer, sing, chant and no referee is safe from their furry.
After watching a very disappointing game for Germany I met up with my friend Ashley and we watched the U.S game from a beer garden in the park. That was a much more exciting game even if we have to settle for a tie.
Stephan told me on Saturday that he was so excited that I was getting interested in the World Cup now. I guess it's hard not too around here. When in Rome, right?

A TRIP TO PALMA

BEACHY, BEACHY, BEACH

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of my gorgeous tan ;) but we had a great week in Mallorca. And to top it off we missed a whole week of rain here in Stuttgart but came home to the same temperatures we left in Mallorca. Not bad. Hello Summer in Germany!
